Chantilly Robotics is Charged Ahead

Overview:

  • Team 612 introduced Charge Ahead this summer to a crowd of freshmen.

  • Chantilly Robotics captains gave a speech and showcased a robot to inspire new members.


AUGUST 8, 2024, CHANTILLY, V.A. Chantilly Robotics captains took the stage and gave a presentation by showing off the robot to students, drawing attention to the benefits of joining the robotics team. Their speeches highlighted not only the technical skills and experience gained by working with robots, but also the teamwork and exciting travel opportunities that come with being a part of the team. The team also brought one of the robots out to show to the students, passing notes to students to encourage their interest to demonstrate its capabilities and interest among the audience.

By the end of the event, Team 612 left a lasting impression on many of the incoming students, motivating them to take the first step toward joining a team that embodies innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning. With this successful start at Charge Ahead, Chantilly Robotics looks forward to welcoming new members and continuing their tradition of excellence in the upcoming school year.

Team 612 would not be able to plan and offer such diverse outreach opportunities to promote STEM in our community. About Chantilly Robotics 

Chantilly Robotics (FRC team 612) brightens the future for leaders and student technologists  within our team, school, and community through fun and engaging methods of learning and  teaching while shining a light on the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering,  math).  

Founded in 2001 with eight student members as an engineering class project, Chantilly  Robotics is one of the largest extracurricular organizations at Chantilly High School with over  100 registered members each year. Team 612 competes at FIRST Robotics Competitions in the  Chesapeake District. Outside of competition Team 612 supports multiple FIRST Lego League  Teams and elementary school STEM activities in the Chantilly High School Pyramid, spreading  love for STEM as well as FIRST values through community outreach.
