MARCH 2, 2020 CHANTILLY, VA: Last weekend, Chantilly Robotics FRC Team 612 competed at the Haymarket District Competition at Battlefield High School. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization founded to inspire interest and participation in science and technology, launched this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) challenge, “Infinite Recharge,” in January. During the competition, Team 612 competed with their robot, Rosie, and gave a Chairman’s Presentation to demonstrate its importance in spreading STEM in the greater Northern Virginia region. Team 612 won a District Spirit Award for their extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit throughout the tournament.

Team 612 is already hard at work to improve their robot for the upcoming competition, implementing new intake and shooting mechanisms. The next competition the team will be attending will be the Owings Mills District Competition on March 14 and 15 at McDonogh School.

The team’s participation in the FRC program would not be possible without support from their sponsors. To learn more, visit https://www.frc612.org/sponsors.
