Overview: Team 612 Gears Up to Represent FIRST at DMC
NOVEMBER 13TH, 2024, CHANTILLY, VA. Team 612, Chantilly Robotics, is proud to announce its upcoming participation in the Defense Manufacturing Conference (DMC) held in Austin, Texas on December 3rd. This prestigious event will bring together leaders in technology and engineering, and Team 612 is coordinating an unprecedented involvement for Texas-based FIRST Robotics teams. The team’s efforts aim to highlight how robotics education aligns with the technology and engineering industries showcased at DMC.
For the past two weeks, Team 612 has been diligently reaching out to Texas FIRST teams to coordinate their participation at DMC. Through email campaigns and scheduled Zoom meetings, Team 612 has helped prepare each team with important information, planning their itineraries, and setting expectations. The goal is to ensure these teams are fully prepared to make a strong impact, sharing the mission of FIRST and fostering connections with industry leaders.
“Our goal at DMC is to showcase the power of robotics education in shaping the future workforce and to strengthen FIRST’s visibility among top industry sponsors,” said Francis Navarro-Lim. “This opportunity to connect with industry professionals offers our students invaluable experience and the chance to secure meaningful sponsorships for our team.”
During DMC, Team 612 and other FIRST teams will operate through interactive booths featuring robots and displays from FIRST Lego League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Additionally, Team 612 members will take on major speaking roles, including introducing speeches and addressing sponsors, the DMC director, and industry executives.
Represented by a dedicated team of five to six students, Team 612 is ready to make a powerful impression, showcasing the impact of robotics and STEM education to influential leaders in technology and defense.
