Mechanical Leadership Presents Robot Design

Overview:

  • Team 612 Spotlights Mechanical’s Plans: Revealing Vision and Design Behind Robot Goal.

CHANTILLY, VIRGINIA – JANUARY 22, 2024 – Chantilly Robotics COO officially introduced the robot design plan today. The entire team gathered together to watch as the mechanical captains presented the CAD design for Team 612’s 2024 robot before starting manufacturing. The captains reiterated strategy to the whole team to make sure all members are on the same page.

This meeting marks a crucial step in the team’s journey, bringing together creativity, technical expertise, and a shared commitment to excellence. The captains’ presentation ensures that every member of Team 612 clearly understands each mechanism in our robot and what the next few weeks of manufacturing will look like.

This year’s game, CRESCENDO, was a chance to showcase technical mastery, foster teamwork, and ignite a passion for STEAM. CRESCENDO, the 2023- 2024 game, brings a unique challenge that goes beyond robotics; it encourages alliances to score notes, amplify their speaker, and harmonize on stage. Team 612 is gearing up for it with a focus on strategic robot design. Click here for a short video on this year’s challenge.

“Our team’s focus is making the robot modular in design,” one of the team’s mentors, Mr. Schneider, comments. Team 612 splits into four groups to create designs for the functions of this year's game: chassis, pivot intake, transfer intake, and shooter. This year, they are trying to make the chassis smaller while keeping both types of intakes modular.
