Overview: Team 612 is making significant progress on the FIRST Impact Award
CHANTILLY, VA, FEBRUARY 1ST, 2025. Team 612, Chantilly Robotics, is making significant strides in its pursuit of the prestigious FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Impact Award. Recognized as the most prestigious honor in FRC, the Impact Award celebrates teams that exemplify long-term community impact, innovation in STEM outreach, and commitment to spreading the mission of FIRST.
This season, Team 612 has made remarkable progress across all components of the submission. The team is nearing completion of the second draft of the Impact Award essay, refining its narrative to effectively convey the team’s dedication to STEM education and community engagement. Simultaneously, the executive summaries have entered the review and editing phase, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and alignment with the award criteria.
The Impact Video is also taking shape, with interviews wrapped up and the script finalized. As the team moves into the video editing phase, efforts are focused on producing a compelling and visually engaging piece that encapsulates Team 612’s story. Meanwhile, the presentation team has begun its planning period, crafting a powerful delivery to showcase the team’s initiatives, achievements, and vision for the future.
With each phase progressing steadily, Team 612 remains committed to delivering a well-rounded and impactful submission. As deadlines approach, the team continues to refine, collaborate, and ensure that its efforts reflect the true spirit of FIRST.
About Chantilly Robotics
Chantilly Robotics (FRC team 612) brightens the future for leaders and student technologists within our team, school, and community through fun and engaging methods of learning and teaching while shining a light on the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math).
Founded in 2001 with eight student members as an engineering class project, Chantilly Robotics is one of the largest extracurricular organizations at Chantilly High School with over 100 registered members each year. Team 612 competes at FIRST Robotics Competitions in the Chesapeake District. Outside of competition Team 612 supports multiple FIRST Lego League Teams and elementary school STEM activities in the Chantilly High School Pyramid, spreading love for STEM as well as FIRST values through community outreach.
