Overview:
As the build season is well underway, 612 works diligently to prepare for the upcoming competition.
The different teams are all doing their part to kick off the build season.
JANUARY 31, 2023, CHANTILLY, V.A. During the first two weeks of the build season, the subteams have experienced many exciting and lively occurrences as they have been working very hard for their upcoming competition. The Electrical team has been working on building practice boards with basic materials to test out prototypes in their respective prototyping groups. They each started to plan out the different components of the robot to use and began finalizing the layout for the electrical board on the robot. The Mechanical team has been working on building the gusset plates, working on the drivetrain and finishing up prototype designs for the robot.
The two prototyping groups introduced their drafts on the design of the robot and hope to get their prototypes finalized by the end of the week. Programming is working on writing code for camera calibration, which helps the robot to track and recognize different targets, as well as precode for the arm and grabber. By writing precodes for the arm and grabber, this allows the robot to identify contrasting objects on the field. The Marketing team has been working on the Chairman’s essay and completing executive summaries. They have also been working on shooting interviews for the Chairman’s video, collecting a variety of b-roll videos, and scripting while uploading bi-weekly build vlogs on the YouTube channel. 612 looks forward to submitting Chairman’s and nearing the end of robot design as February begins!
