Overview: Chantilly Robotics marketing subteam submits an improved and refined safety animation

NOVEMBER 25TH, 2024, CHANTILLY, VA. In an effort to compete for FIRST Robotics’ safety award, Chantilly Robotics marketing subteam created an animation that promoted safe workplace habits in a fun and engaging way.

The team finalized their safety animation as of November 21st. This year’s theme for the award was “Diving into Safety.” To reflect this theme, freshmen artists Pragna Tangirala and Shreeya Ligade illustrated an ocean scenery that portrayed different aspects of safety. With the assistance from senior artist Anshika Mantrala, both Pragna and Shreeya promoted the use of safe equipment, recycling, and safe battery usage.  The safety animation also included a short rap done by marketing captain Ananya Prasath. The rap highlighted important safety values that aligned with the video to create a fun, effective, and compelling animation.

Marketing subteam created an animation that improved upon previous years in order to win FIRST Robotics’ safety award. In the past, the team had created an animation that excelled in some areas and struggled in others. Although the animation promoted safety with eye catching visuals, it struggled to engage the judges because of its simplicity and bland messages.

The team’s new animation builds on last year’s effort by incorporating dynamic raps and captivating visuals, enhancing its impact and appeal. The animation aims to achieve multiple objectives: creating an engaging and memorable piece that promotes safety within Chantilly Robotics, striving to win the FIRST Robotics Safety Award, and fostering creativity and skill development among team members, empowering them to showcase their artistic talents.
