OCTOBER 17, 2019 CHANTILLY, VA: Chantilly Robotics FRC Team 612 began its 20th season this year! Starting Sept. 11th the team welcomed 92 newcomers, using a brand new curriculum created by veteran members to introduce each subteam. With skills ranging from animation to engineering, student leaders created custom lesson plans to ensure new members are prepared for this year’s challenges. The team also created a new outreach subteam to strengthen the team’s outreach program.

Chantilly Robotics is already putting their plans into practice. On Oct. 26th, the team will showcase their robot at the Air and Scare event at the Udvar-Hazy Center. The team participates in this event annually, representing FIRST and educating thousands of visitors on STEM.

On Nov. 16, the team will host their 18th annual FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying Tournament. This event uses the FLL program to reinforce children’s skills in engineering, cultivating STEM principles and problem solving skills. This tournament has become a staple in the community and will continue to bring the young STEM community together each year.

Team 612 needs your continued support for their 2019-2020 FRC season. Your support last season allowed Chantilly Robotics Team 612 to win both the Haymarket and Oxon Hill District Competitions, going undefeated at their first district event and qualifying for District Championships as the first ranked team in the FIRST FRC Chesapeake region, out of over 120 teams. Your donations and sponsorship are essential for the team’s success both in competition and in Team 612’s efforts in spreading STEM throughout their local community and beyond.
