Team 612 Unravels Competition Banner - February 2020
When Chantilly Robotics started in 2001, it was a small engineering project of only eight students. Today, Chantilly Robotics Team 612 is an organization with over 120 members that works year-round on numerous projects, ranging from consistently hosting FLL tournaments and camps in the Northern Virginia area to speaking to top defense manufacturing companies about the virtues of FIRST and STEM values on a national level.
Through creating an efficient organizational structure, 612 created a strong team. Team 612’s structure enables members to gain skills needed to build a robot strong enough to go to the FRC World Championship in 2018 and become first in the CHS District in 2019. That strong base of knowledge led 612 to be able to build a better community through widespread STEM education and outreach. Team 612 is now more than just a robotics team. It is an organization dedicated to cultivating STEM skills.
